Mel found her way to Lander in 2022 after she and her husband sold their home in Richmond, Virginia with plans to travel the country. What was supposed to be just one season in Lander turned into a happy plot twist—they quickly realized they had found their home.

Before real estate, Mel built her career around books, stories, and community. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Auburn University and a Master’s in Library and Information Sciences from the University of South Carolina. After managing an independent children's bookstore and working at the Lander Library, she realized she wanted to help people write their own stories—a perspective she now brings to real estate. To her, a home is more than square footage or listings—it’s where your story unfolds. Helping clients find the right place to begin their next chapter is the most rewarding part of her work.

Mel is passionate about helping animals find their forever homes too, and you’ll often find her house full of foster pets. Along with fostering, Mel serves on the Lander Spay & Neuter board making Lander a better place for animals and people alike. It’s no surprise that she believes the perfect home should fit every member of the family—paws included.
